Window treatments are one of the most noticeable parts of your home’s windows. There are plenty of options when it comes to coverings, including color, style, functions, and features. The video on this post speaks on the differences between each window treatment, and how they would be used in different circumstances.
The three main types of treatments are blinds, shades, and shutters. They are all similar, but have a few distinct differences that may change which option your blinds installer may recommend.
Blinds are the traditional type with exposed slats that can tilt to let in more sunlight.
They can also slide up and down to fully expose the window. Blinds are generally the most inexpensive option.
Shades are made from a fabric material and do not tilt in the same way a blind would. These can be self-operated, or remotely operated with a motor installed. Shades are often the easiest to operate.
Shutters are louvered in design and are made to fit snugly in the window opening. They typically block the most amount of light and are the easiest to clean, but are generally the most expensive.
Contact your local blinds installer to find which type may be best for you and your home.
